The Eskasoni Ksite'taqnk Day Care opened its door in January 1997, and is open to working parents, foster parents, and secondary and post secondary students.  It is operated under the umbrella of the Eskasoni School Board which is staffed by a coordinator, a full time cook/day care worker and six Early Childhood Educators.
The day care provides a quality child care environment and strive to create a healthy, nutritional, and fun environment for the children.  The day care is open from September to June and is closed for holidays.  Our daily reasonable rates are the following:  Children in the full-day program is $ 20.00, children in the half-day program $ 12.00, Second Child in the full day program is
$ 10.00 and Second Child in the half-day program is $ 8.00. Children enrolled in the full day program will be in the half day program.  Children who are at age 4 may be enrolled in the half day program.  The day care provides two nutritious snacks and a healthy hot lunch daily.  Children receive an excellent educational and stimulating program.  They also receive adequate rest periods and lot's of motor skill development-supervised play time.  Our educational program is a Mi'kmaq educational program and children are taught in the Mi'kmaq language.  During circle time, children are taught the Mi'kmaq colors, numbers, shapes, days of the week, animals and nursery songs.  We strive to teach the children the Mi'kmaq culture in our weekly themes.
The day care is a safe and pleasant environment and we do everything possible to enhance the child's physical, intellectual, emotional and social development.
